Sarojini Naidu nee Chattopadhyaya also knows by the sobriquet The Nightingale of India(Bharatiya Kokilla),13th February -2nd March 1949) was a child prodigy,Indian independence activist and poet. At the time when freedom struggle in the country against the British was going on in full force, she met Gopal Krishana Gokhale who advised her by saying ,"Use your poetry and your beautiful words to rejuvenate the spirit of Independence.Use your talent to free Mother India".She then began her tour to awaken the woman of India.She brought them out of the kitchen.She traveled from state to state, city after city and asked for the rights of the woman. Naidu was the second Indian women to become the President of the Indian National Congress and the first woman to become the Governor of Uttar Pradesh state.Her birthday is celebrated as Women's Day in India.
